What is the Difference Between Molding and Trim?

When wondering, “What is the difference between moulding and trim?”, know that trim is generally used around openings such as windows and doors, or at the corners between walls. Whereas moulding is used more for decorative use.

To summarize:

Trim: Largely applied as a functional element around windows, doors, or corners. Can be used to cover gaps or imperfections.

Moulding: Decorative wood used as an aesthetic addition to enhance a space. While moulding is a type of trim, it is typically elaborate in detail and applied around the ceiling or baseboards of a home.

Wow! Beautiful work and super helpful customer service. I had an antique sofa leg break off and was devastated. I found Turntech and reached out. They have me a very fair quote for custom work. I sent them the broken leg for reference. I just got two new legs and my old one back today and the craftsmanship is pristine. I am so excited to get this sofa fixed now.

We hired Turntech to make a custom baseball bat out of a maple tree that we planted when our son was born. Unfortunately , we had to take the tree down but wanted to give our son a memento . The bat was fantastic!!! Turntech not only did excellent work but also has great communication, follow up, polite staff. The pricing is excellent. I would definitely recommend using Turntech.
